About Me
I received my Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling from Texas State University in 2014. While at Texas State, I was selected to design and co-facilitate a new graduate course offering, Perception: Critical Aspects for Counselors, with Dr. John L. Garcia. Additionally, I worked closely with the student organizations, Counselors for Social Justice and the Chi Sigma Iota Honors Society as a strong ally of the LGBTQ community, an advocate for disadvantaged groups, and vocal proponent of mental health awareness.
I received my Bachelors of Arts in English, with a minor in Philosophy, and an emphasis in Creative Writing from UCLA. I have published fiction and am currently working on a memoir reflecting on my experience in the process of becoming a counselor. I also have an active yoga and meditation practice. My studies in the humanities, experience in the creative arts, and practice as a yogi all have come to enrich my understanding of an integrative and holistic approach to healing relationships and mental health.
